Kauai, also known as the Garden Isle, is divided into 5 regions: West Side, North Shore, South Shore, Lihue, and East Side.
West Side
Home to the magnificent Waimea Canyon (Grand Canyon of the Pacific), the West Side of Kauai is dwelling to some of Kauai’s scenic wonders. The West Side neighborhoods and districts include Eleele, Hanapepe, Kekaha, Kokee, Polihale, Waimea.
North Shore
Kauai’s North Shore is full of charm and beauty with its striking mountains, abundant taro fields, amazing beaches and dramatic sea cliffs. The North Shore neighborhoods and districts include Anini, Haena, Hanalei, Kilauea, Princeville, Waihina.
South Shore
Sunny South Shore of Kauai is the hottest spot on the island. It’s no wonder that it is most notable for its 2 famous beaches: Po'ipu Beach Park and the Spouting Horn Beach Park. The South Shore neighborhoods and districts include Kalaheo, Koloa, Lawai, Omao, Poipu.
Lihue (Central)
Lihue is the capital of Kauai and its main commercial and government center. Lihue Airport (main airport) and Nawiliwili Harbor, the island's major commercial shipping center and cruise ship port are situated here. Lihue neighborhoods and districts include Hanamaulu, Kalapaki, Lihue, Puhi.
East Side (Coconut Coast)
Kauai's East Side, also called the Coconut Coast, is the most populated region on the island—most reside in the Wailua/Kapaa area. The East Side neighborhoods and districts include Aliomanu, Anahola, Kapa'a, Kealia, Moloaa, Wailua.
